Position
- Principal Research Scientist and Research Program Leader in Insect Behavior
I study the behavior and ecology of insects in corn and soybean fields; the western corn rootworm (WCR) is my primary study organism. I focus on WCR management and resistance (to Bt corn and crop rotation); I am particularly interested in the role of WCR movement and mating in these topics. My approach to the study of insects benefits from a willingness to observe what insects are actually doing. I believe that if we really pay attention to insects, they will not fail to tell us amazing stories.
